Roasting the Coffee
- To shorten and ease the process of coffee roasting, get the mix of green and roasted coffee beans. The ratio, by weight, between green beans and roasted beans should be 2:1 respectively.
- Let the roaster get hot on the stove and then start pouring coffee beans in it. Observe the process and you will see beans’ natural sugar starting to caramelize. After the Beans are roasted
- After the beans are roasted, cool them down as soon as possible. For that purpose, pour the beans into a colander and take it outside of the kitchen. Get another colander and pass the beans between both colanders for a couple of minutes. That should cool the beans down to room temperature. Never use water to cool the beans.
- It’s more ideal to leave the beans for 24 hours in a tin with loosely adjusted lid upon it. That would help in the degassing of beans.
